MAKING-OF
-I was asked to explain my process of doing an illustration, so I'll do it with that project. Everything was made digitally with a Cintiq in Photoshop, mainly for a time reason. I had around a month to do thirty or so illustrations and working digitally is faster.

1. I first do a really crap rough to go in the page layout and to be ok with the publisher. The goal is to give the idea of the picture and a rough composition. It will usually be the only thing he will see until the final picture, so it's the time for comments. Here, the boy had to look worried and be more in action, instread of just waking up.  I do a pass at all the pictures like this before anything else.
2. Je précise le rough avec un autre.
2. I precise the rough with an other one.
3. Line clean up. I sometimes show this step to the publisher to make sure it's going to the right direction, and show him that I'm still working since the rough step, 10 days ago!

4. Couleur!
4.Color! (I keep the line visible for that step)
5. L'image finale.
5. Final picture. Some drawing lines are erased, others are colored. Then I add some effects on top of everything.

I like all the characters but I have to say that I'm a big fan of your "other characters"!

Nice oneeee!

On page5.jpg You outlined some parts of the character and didn't on other parts.

I understand that you would draw a dark line to seperate overlapping body parts, and/or to break up certain shapes, maybe to help suggest light and shadow areas.

Can you elaborate on your how you are approaching this?

This is all really fantastic work.

Don flores: You're right, bur I did it mainly to have a lighter picture. It just felt nicer this way.
Happy you like it!

And I didn't do it all the time, like when it didn't help to read the picture well.
