Volga animated

I wanted to post this old stuff from 2005 for a long time, for which I have a special affection. It's the animated version of the background posted here a while ago. It was a special effects exercice co-directed with my mate Fabulon at gobelins. We had good time recording the sound of the trains at the train station!

Bonjour Sylvain! This is absolutely amaaazing work! What materials/software/techniques did you use to do it - if you don't mind me asking? I remember you posting the background up a while ago and absolutely loved it. :)

-Dave: it's all 2D, hand animation, the bg is painted differently for the lightnings, then comped on after effects.
