The Valentine's day issue of Spirou magazine is out this week, with four pages I made. Only in France and french, though.

Little Rikke!!

D' habitude, je ne montre jamais ce que je fais à mon vrai travail, vu que je n'ai pas le droit de montrer des projets en développement. Tout ce que je montre ici est donc de l'extra fait à côté.
Ce qui suit est une séquence-titre pour un projet de série créé par la talentueuse Rikke Asbjoërn et devellopé avec l'équipe. Il n'a malheureusement pas été retenu.
J'y ai realisé l'animatique, le layout, les décors et une partie de l'animation,

I never show what I do during the day, because I'm not allowed to show projects in development. What I show here is always extra work.
What follows is the Opening Title sequence I've worked on last year, for the pilot of an unproduced TV series created by the talentuous Rikke Asbjoërn and develloped with the team.
I did the animatic, the layout, the backgrounds and a part of the character animation on this piece. You can see it on HD on my vimeo profile, as well as all the credits.

Voilà longtemps que je voulais poster cette vieillerie de 2005 pour laquelle j'ai une affection particulière...Il sagit de la version animée du decors posté il y a belle lurette ici. C'était donc un exercice d'effets spéciaux co-realisé avec mon poto Fabulon aux gobelins. On s'était bien amusés à enregistrer passer le RER dans la gare d'à côté!

I wanted to post this old stuff from 2005 for a long time, for which I have a special affection. It's the animated version of the background posted here a while ago. It was a special effects exercice co-directed with my mate Fabulon at gobelins. We had good time recording the sound of the trains at the train station!

Ce mercredi dans Spirou...enfin presque...

Voici l'illustration faite pour le Spirou de cette semaine, c'est la page titre de "la petite gazette de l'insolite", avec Etienne Leclerq a l'écriture. Mais attention, il sagit d'un supplément réservé aux abonnés, donc pas en kiosque. Oui je sais, c'est dommage... Mais il y a d'autres projets de bd sur le feu pour l'intérieur du magazine pour très bientôt!




Here is the illustration for this week's Spirou magazine, with Etienne Leclerq writing. It's for a little inset about weird stories...There are some comic pages in project, coming soon in the magazine!

Sir Quentin Blake (....and i)

J'ai eu l'immense honneur d'aller visiter maître Quentin Blake dans son studio, pour récupérer le Sketchtravel. Les mots manquent pour décrire cette experience unique. La frustration après coup de ne pas profiter plus de ce genre de moment unique, le sentiment de petitesse ressenti sous la bibliothèque recouvrant le mur, et remplie de plus de 340 livres.
Bref, je n'en menais pas large et c'est ce genre de rencontre qui marque pour longtemps et font reflechir beaucoup!
Catherine s'est occupé de l'interview et Ben, des photos et du film. Je salue au passage leur implication dans le projet.

I had the huge honnor to meet master Quentin Blake in his London studio, to get the Sketchtravel from him.
Words are weak to describe this very unique experience. The frustration afterwards not to take more advantage of that kind of rare moments, the feeling of beeing so small under the bookshelf packed with more than 340 books.
I was really impressed, and I will remember this for a long time, and that the kind of thing that make you think a lot about your own work.
Catherine was in charge of the interview and Ben filmed and took the pictures. They are so involved in the project.

L'amicale des boulistes chez Arludik

Le collectif de "Rendez-vous" exposera/vendra à la galerie Arludik à Paris, à partir du 28 novembre prochain. Voici un dessin realisé pour l'occasion, histoire de continuer sur le thème. Crayons, acrylique, aquarelle.

The collective "Rendez-vous" will exhibit/sale at the Arludik gallery, in Paris from the 28th of november. Here is a new piece made for that special occasion. Pencils, acrylics, watercolours.

Oyez, oyez, mon histoire "Au cochonnet" pour le collectif "Rendez-vous" sera prepubliée dans le Bodoï de la rentrée, en kiosk le 29 août! Ouais!


My story, for the collective book will be prepublished in a french comic book magazine called Bodoï. Only in france though.

Me revoilà de retour de vacances et dans ma nouvelle maison...
Avec un peu de retard donc, j'annonce la sortie de l'album collectif "Rendez-vous", auquel j'ai participé et qui sortira chez Akileos le 18 septembre prochain en librairie. Un blog a été créé pour promouvoir le projet. Ci-dessous, la planche un sur quatre. Le tout fait en deux semaines et demi, vu que j'ai attendu le dernier moment...



I'm back from holidays and I've moved into my new house...
A bit late, I tell you about the release of a collective comic book I've been working on, called "Rendez-vous". It will be available the 18th of september in France, published by Akileos, and should be exported soon because there are no dialogues. A blog has been created to promote it. Up there is the first page of four. The all of it was done in two and a half week, because I waited the last moment to start...

En ce moment meme (regardez donc l'heure du post sapristi!!), et depuis un peu plus de deux semaines, je fais une bd de quatre pages a paraitre dans un album collectif a la rentree, avec pleins de gens chouettes.
C'est une histoire d'amour a rebondissements dans le milieu de la...petanque bien de cheu nous! Une histoire de boules en quelques sortes...A suivre...__________________________________________

It's a love story in the world of "petanque", a popular french game..
