Me revoilà de retour de vacances et dans ma nouvelle maison...
Avec un peu de retard donc, j'annonce la sortie de l'album collectif "Rendez-vous", auquel j'ai participé et qui sortira chez Akileos le 18 septembre prochain en librairie. Un blog a été créé pour promouvoir le projet. Ci-dessous, la planche un sur quatre. Le tout fait en deux semaines et demi, vu que j'ai attendu le dernier moment...



I'm back from holidays and I've moved into my new house...
A bit late, I tell you about the release of a collective comic book I've been working on, called "Rendez-vous". It will be available the 18th of september in France, published by Akileos, and should be exported soon because there are no dialogues. A blog has been created to promote it. Up there is the first page of four. The all of it was done in two and a half week, because I waited the last moment to start...

En ce moment meme (regardez donc l'heure du post sapristi!!), et depuis un peu plus de deux semaines, je fais une bd de quatre pages a paraitre dans un album collectif a la rentree, avec pleins de gens chouettes.
C'est une histoire d'amour a rebondissements dans le milieu de la...petanque bien de cheu nous! Une histoire de boules en quelques sortes...A suivre...__________________________________________

Right now (check the time of the post!!), and since a bit more than two weeks, I'm doing a four pages comics that will be published in a collective book very soon.
It's a love story in the world of "petanque", a popular french game..
I'll show more later...

Totoro Forest Project!!

Eh ben voilà, ce dont j'ai commencé à parler il y a quelques temps vient d'être révélé au monde! Il s'agit donc du Totoro Forest Project, un excitant projet auquel j'ai été invité à participer, avec 200 autres artistes. Il sagissait de réaliser notre propre vision de Totoro, inspirée par le film de maître Miyazaki. Les oeuvres seront exposées à Pixar (et certaines au San Fransisco Cartoon Art Museum), ou elles seront vendues aux encheres, et les bénéfices reversés au National Trust Totoro Forest Foundation, pour la protection de la forêt de Sayama, qui n'est autre que la forêt de Totoro! Forêt menacée bien sur... Ensuite, un livre sera édité avec l'ensemble des oeuvres, que vous pouvez voir sur le site officiel. Merci à Dice Tsutsumi, Yukino Pang, Enrico Casarosa et Ronnie del Carmen pour cette généreuse initiative et pour m'avoir invité! Few weeks ago, I teased about a secret projet that was revealed to the world today! It's the Totoro Forest Project, an exciting project I was honored to take part of, with 200 other artists. We had to give our own vision of Totoro, inspired by the film of master Miyazaki. An exhibition and an aunction will take place in Pixar (and some of the pieces will be shown at the San Fransisco Cartoon Art Museum) and the money raised will be donated to the National Trust Totoro Forest Foundation , to protect the endangered Sayama forest, Totoro's forest... Then, a book will be published with all the pieces you can now see on the official website. Thanks to Dice Tsutsumi, Yukino Pang, Enrico Casarosa et Ronnie del Carmen who are at the origin of this generous project, and for inviting me!________________________________________________

Totorus grandiflora

Mixed (pencil, watercolor, ink) but then mainly digital (photoshop).
-DESCRIPTION:
This piece is partly based on the circular greenhouse you can find in Strasbourg's botanical garden (East of France).
A really beautiful greenhouse, really intimate, that I specialy love.
I love greenhouses anyway, the light and plants are usually unique, and the impression inside is magical. I like the mix of nature and artificial elements
such as the lables with scientific names, pipes, taps, garden hoses...
But in a way, it's a bit like puting nature in a box, like zoos do for animals. It's sound like the last hope for nature in case it desapears completely.
So that could really be the last shelter of the nature spirit as well.
That's what I wanted to show...It's a bit sad in a way, but it would be totally hopeless if totoro wasn't giving an acorn to the children..The hope.
I won't explain further more, Miyazaki already did it way better than me, with his masterpiece.__________________________________________

Nouvelles/pubs

Je suis assez silencieux en ce moment, beaucoup de travail et de projets dans tous les sens, un déménagement sur les rails, un festival d'annecy et me voilà en mode sous-marin..
Donc pas de dessins pour maintenant, quelques annonces et trucs très chouettes pour remplir. Tout dabord mon compère marmouzet, qui organise avec brio fin juillet et en allemagne, le skizzenfestival (festival international du croquis, en langue courtoise) auquel je prendrai part avec le compère mr. fabulon, dans un projet commun de fresque, où l'on tentera de réaliser le plus grand croquis du monde, et ainsi qu'avec l'autre compère, mr.caillou, dans un projet commun de...ben de pastis où l'on tentera d'en trouver...___________________________________________
I've been pretty silent lately, a lot of work, projects on the side, I'm moving home, annecy festival...
So, no drawings for now, just news and events to come, nice stuffs.
First of all, my pal marmouzet, organizes the skizzenfestival, a sketching festival in germany at the end of july. I'll be part of it with my other pal mr. fabulon in a common project of wall painting where we'll (try to) make the biggest sketch in the world, and with my other pal mr. caillou, in a common project of...boozing?



Ensuite, mon petit film,la soupe à l'engrais, continue sa petite vie, j'ai reçu il y a quelques semaines le deuxième prix du concours de Cold Hard Flash. Il a été sélectionné avec dix autres films parmi la diffusion de l'année et jugé par des stars très paillettes...voilà c'est rigolo. Je crois que je vais refaire des films-d'un-mois-pas-finis, moi..
Merci à Aaron, l'organisateur, qui m'a fabriqué ce classieux petit prix virtuel ci-après!! ___________________________________________________
Then, my little film, fertilizer soup, continues its own little life and won few weeks ago, the second price in the Cold Hard Flash competition. It was selected with ten other films among the year's selection and judged by pretty fancy professionals.
That's it, pretty funny, I think I'll do an other unfinished-made-in-a-month film...Thanks to Aaron who organized this ans made me this classy virtual cup down there!!

Bonjour, ça a été assez calme par ici depuis un bout de temps, je travaille beaucoup au boulot la journée, et le soir sur des projets dont je parlerai plus tard. Pour l'instant, pour vous allêcher, je mets des détails d'une grande illus réalisée pour un super projet aux USA, secret pour l'instant, dont je vous parlerai très bientôt. Hi there, I've been quite silent for a while over here. I've been pretty busy lately, I have a lot of work during the day, animating, and my evenings are filled with other projects that I'll talk about later. For the moment, as a teasing, I show you some details of a bigger painting for a very exciting (but secret) project happening in US that I've been involved with. I'll tell you about it very soon! London ZOO-ZSL

Samedi je suis allé faire quelques croquis au Zoo de Londres...c'est définitivement déprimant un zoo. En bas il y a des chevaux, croqués chez ma soeur, les premiers croquis de l'année.
Saturday I went to London Zoo to do some sketches...Zoos are definetly depressing. The horses were made to my sister's house, the first sketches of the year, I didn't do much, it was freezing!







Et puis mes copains du boulot, Chris et Dave, jouent dans un groupe "The dive". Petit croquis de leur concert dans un pub à Camden vendredi dernier.

The Foundry

L'ami Simon le talentueux nous a invité a venir joyeusement salir un beau mur blanc pour son expo. Vous pouvez voir toute la série ici. En vrai c'est dans un escalier, c'est petit et y'a un va-et-vient constant de 20 personnes par minute. Merci à toi simon, c'était fort rigolo..

Venise

Je reviens tout juste d'un petit voyage à Venise, voici les deux seuls croquis que j'ai pris le temps de faire des petits étalages de marchés recouverts. Le retour à Londres est assez dur...De retour, je me dis qu'on aurait du faire plus de croquis...voilà l'occasion d'y retourner!
I just got back from a trip to Venice, here are the only two sketches I took time to do of this wonderful city. Coming back to London is pretty hard...Now, I wish we did more sketches, it will be next time's purpose!
